Student Eligibility

1. Students must between the ages of 11-18 years old

2. Students must maintain a minimum of a C- average.

 3. Students are expected to make a significant time commitment to the team, actively participating in meetings, workshops, and events. Commitment to the team increases significantly before tournaments.

4. Students are expected be reliable (on-time, prepared to work, clean up, positive attitude, assist newer members, responsive to mentors and other adult volunteers) and assist with team administrative tasks.

5. Students and parents must complete the necessary paperwork and pay the required fees including the annual registration fee, t-shirt costs, and travel expenses.

Student/Parent Code of Conduct

1. Students are expected to behave in a courteous and cooperative manner.

2. Students are expected to be respectful of others and behave in a way that protects the health and safety of themselves and others.

3. Students shall be respectful of the facilities, tools, equipment and all things being used by the team.

Parents Expectations

1.Parents are expected to provide additional support of the team when asked, including chaperoning, making travel arrangements, providing meals, transportation (people and robot), general supervision (non-mentorship), donation of general supplies/snacks/water, craft-type expertise and assisting team mentors as requested.

2. Parents are expected to behave in a courteous and cooperative manner.

3. Parents are expected to keep up to date on all team news. Check with coaches for updates and read team emails regularly.

4. Parents must ensure students are making a significant time commitment to the team, ensure they are participating in meetings, workshops, and events. Commitment to the team increases significantly before tournaments.

5. Parents are expected to help with team fundraisers.

Meeting time and Cost for joining a team

Team meet once a week, normally on Sunday afternoons and are mandatory. As tournament time gets closer there will be extra meeting for the team. The extra meetings are not mandatory but please ensure you attend when you can.

There is a $50 fee to join a XKAR robotics team. The registration fees helps cover the league fees along with team t-shirts. There are transportation fees also. Travel cost to compete at tournaments includes things like hotels, food, and gas. XKAR will always work hard to help with these extra expenses through local sponsors and fundraisers.

A Registration form must be filed out and mailed or Emailed to XKAR. DO NOT send money with the form. Once the student is approved for an XKAR robotics team the registration fee will be due at the first meeting. Click the link above for XKAR Forms
